Character Building HM Armed Forces Toys and Figures

In the construction toy market Lego have been in front for so long in makes you wonder why other companies would want to join in. But, when you see what character options have done with the character building range in makes a really nice addition to the construction toy market.

The HM Armed forces was probably an easy choice for this range as Character have the main range of figures for HMAF.

So far there have been 2 series of figures featuring figures from the RAF, Royal Navy and Army. Series 1 had 8 figures and series 2 had 12 figures.

Deadly 60 - Character Building

The CBBC nature show Deadly 60 presented by Steve Backshall has taken the step into the realm of toys. Character Building, also known for the ranges of Doctor Who and HM Armed forces character building has now taken a third title.

The range will undoubtedly grow, but the initial offering looks like this will be a nice addition to the construction toy category and give children a different avenue.

Wave One of the figures includes 15 different figures with several variants of Steve Backshall himself and a number of different animals that have featured in the show. Animals include a snake, a wolf, a rhino and more.

Bob The Builder Toys

Another show that whilst not around when I was younger, captured the imagination of a new generation. Bob the Builder. With a catch phrase that can't be mistaken - Can we fix it - Yes we can. He and his crew (a collection of talking vehicles) do the building work and odd jobs for the other characters. Bod started out in his builders yard with faithful cat Pilchard Muck, Lofty, Dizzy, Roley, Scoop. Mischief was often the fault of Spud the scarecrow and Bob would fix it!!

The toys that are now available are of the main characters including Wendy, Bobs girlfriend and fellow Fix it Building expert.

Fireman Sam Toys

Another favourite that has recently been reinvigorated for the new audience is Fireman Sam. The Welsh fire fighting hero from Pontypandy was always getting Norman out of the trouble he got himself and others into.

The updated version of the children's programme, like postman pat sds, includes a wider cast and a bigger area to adventure in.

The Show has a great toy tie in and these toys are in scale with the postman pat sds toys that are available. If your young ones like them both then they will happily play side by side.

When I was growing up back the late 70's and 80's I enjoyed many programmes on what was a limited TV experience. (3 Channels - My kids laugh when I say that).

I loved Postman Pat (apparently) driving around Greendale in his little red van with faithful cat Jess.

We now see a new series revamped for the modern age Postman Pat S.D.S. (Special Delivery Service). New characters have blended into the show along with timeless classics. The expanded world has led to the popularity of the programme and from that the love for the toys.

You can have your very own Postman Pat figures, vehicles and playsets.

Toys for the junior members of your family and maybe some of the big kids too. Character toys are often based on what's on TV and when you see what we have on channels like CBBC, CBeeebies, CITV, Nick junior, Disney Junior plus many others this becomes evident.

Since we have seen many TV / Toy and Movie / Toy tie ins its become the norm if you like for this practice. We see card games become cartoons and cartoons become toys.

The fact is we like that. It allows an extension of the programme in our front rooms and children's rooms. They can take action figures over duvet landscapes and carpeted battlefields. This use of imagination can help children express themselves, promote social interaction and to be honest just be fun!
